Resort Description

A holiday or short break on the Yorkshire Moors or along the Yorkshire Coast is certain to delight and inspire. From the purple heather scattered across the rolling Yorkshire moorlands to the dramatic cliffs along the coast, there is so much to see and do. Bring history to life as you explore the ruins, castles, abbeys and stately homes dotted across the towns and villages. Or simply escape the rat race with a quiet ramble across the moors, or a scenic cycle tour along the cliff tops. Or simply revel in the fun of the seaside, as you splash about in the waves breaking onto golden sands.

With so much to do, you’ll need a place to stay. There are a number of excellent accommodation options – from holiday parks and lodges to seaside cottages and farmstead homes. Use your holiday home as a base from which to discover more about the region.

Both Aislaby and Rosedale Abbey are ideally located to allow wildlife enthusiasts to enjoy the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Or perhaps you’d prefer the Filey, which offers access to country parks, sandy beaches, cliff-top view points and a relaxed lifestyle.

The major centres of Whitby and Scarborough offer all the delights of seaside living, with a vibrant atmosphere offering plenty of things to do.

The villages and towns around the Moors and coast each offer something different, and are a holidaymakers delight. The market towns of Helmsley and Kirbymoorside will provide a taste of Yorkshire’s fresh produce. Malton is the historic centre of Ryedale, and Pickering is the gateway to the Moors. The sandy beaches of Runswick Bay, the abbey ruins at Rievaulx or the popular Robin Hood’s Bay are all excellent choices. There are plenty of other options including Castleton, Egton, Grosmont, Hutton-le-Hole, Nunnington, Oliver’s Mount, Pinchinthorpe and the Howardian Hills.
