Resort Description

The beautiful countryside of the county of Norfolk in the East of England has attracted holidaymakers for generations. Norfolk’s capital is the thriving city of Norwich, but it is the rural landscapes that often attract those looking for a cottage holiday. Holidays in Norfolk provide access to beautiful sandy beaches, the navigable waterways of The Broads, and some of the most beautiful scenery in England.

Holt is a great starting point. The historic town was rebuilt in 1708 after a devastating fire, and is popular for weekend breaks. The town is well-known for its antique stores and craft shops, and nature lovers will enjoy the 100 acres of woodland. A holiday cottage in Holt will be a great way to explore the region.

Perhaps you’d prefer a self-catering holiday home near the village of Cley, where you can admire the famous windmill and sample the traditional smoked delicacies offered at The Smoke House. The nearby nature reserve, with its salt marshes, is a twitchers delight, with many bird species nesting here.

Aholiday in Norfolk would be incomplete without some time spent in Cromer, sampling the freshly-caught crabs, or watching the traditional Pavilion Theatre on the pier in the summer months. The August carnival offers a variety of attractions, and renting a holiday house in Cromer would allow you to enjoy all of them!

Perhaps you’d prefer your short break in Norfolk to include trips to the seal sanctuary off Blakeney Point, or perhaps a visit to see the Queen’s residence at Sandringham. The village of Mundsley is a great family seaside holiday destination in Norfolk, with its safe, sandy beaches.

A cottage holiday in Norfolk would also offer you the opportunity to explore the National Trust land at Sheringham Park, or perhaps even the estuary at The Wash. Or use your holiday home as a base camp, hire a boat for the day and explore the over 200 km of navigable waterways in The Broads.

There is no shortage of holiday options in Norfolk, no matter if you’re looking for a short break, romantic getaway or a summer family holiday!
